Daniel's Blessing

Yes, I know it has been over a month since my last post and believe me a lot has happen. I guess it takes certain experiences in your life, to make you see that you really have got it made. My light went on when I made my visit to Haiti and like I have said it has been on my mind ever since.

Now, to get to the title "Daniel's Blessing" Daniel was the name of my son that was born 12 years ago and lived for 4 beautiful days and so when the idea of the Non-Profit came up my daughter suggested that I pick a name that was close to my heart and since I always feel "Blessed" Daniel's Blessing was born.

Daniel's Blessing will help assist a school here in Hampton Roads and a school in Haiti in what their needs are. I feel if we don't help some way the next generations will be no more.

Today I watched Oprah and she had a segment about how the schools are (excuse me) the majority of the schools, teachers are just working to get a pay check and don't care about the kids, don't get me wrong their are a lot of teachers that work very hard with the children and really want them to go on to college, so something has to be done, I don't know exactly what yet. I am vowing to do what I can and I welcome each one of you to join me. I am so proud of a couple of people I know that have stepped up to give back and I must mention them, Elder Smith at church leaves this week for Haiti for 11 days and my dear friend Jacque is working on a program for her church for the "Grand Parents" all we need to do is PAY IT FORWARD!

I have already told you the conditions in Haiti,I also posted a piece from the New York Times about the Haitians writing letters, thinking and saying that they are forgotten, let me say "no you are not", you have me, my family, church family and I am praying that all my friends now and in the future, will see the passion I have for this project and jump on board. I know GOD did not mean for us to have our brothers and sisters to live this way. I am sure it pleases his heart with every little thing that we do for our fellow man.

So in ending, a school in Hampton Roads and in Haiti you need to know that someone has your back and you are not alone.

Blessings!!!

  1. I'm on board! I'm glad you found something you really believe in. I think this is a very noteworthy cause; we can never give enough to the generation coming behind us. And in doing this I hope you set a positive example for those you help and that they to in their blessings feel inspired to bless others.
